About Us

The Five River Carpenters Health & Welfare Fund (the “Fund”) provides medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance and short term disability benefits to eligible employees covered by the collective bargaining units represented by the Fund. Eligibility for benefits is determined in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreements and the Plan’s eligibility provisions.

The Fund is governed by the Taft-Hartley Act, as amended, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”). ERISA generally preempts state law, which means the state-mandated benefit laws do not usually apply to the Fund.

The Fund is administered and maintained by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees consists of six members: three union representatives and three employer representatives. The Trustees have hired an administrator that oversees the day-to-day operations of the Fund. The Board of Trustees consists of the following members:
